How do I treat a cat hit by a vehicle or attacked by a dog?

Immediate actions — first 60 seconds

1. Approach cautiously - frightened, injured cats will bite and scratch defensively. 2. Wrap the cat in a thick towel or blanket.

Place the cat in a rigid carrier or box to limit movement. Apply direct pressure over bleeding areas through the towel. Transport immediately.
