What to do if a pet bird is exposed to non-stick pan fumes (PTFE Toxicity)?
Immediate actions — first 60 seconds
Move the bird into fresh outdoor air instantly. Overheated PTFE (Teflon) fumes cause rapid, fatal pulmonary edema in birds.
Ventilate the home thoroughly. Seek emergency veterinary oxygen therapy immediately.
